Each year, more than 4 million people in over 20 countries raise funds and awareness to save lives from cancer through the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life events. Traditional Bank and its employees are proud to be a big part of that effort. On July 12 and 13, employees came together to donate $12,414 dollars to Montgomery County Relay for Life; placing our bank team first in fundraising totals. This special achievement was made even more meaningful to the bank by the involvement and efforts of those courageous employees who are themselves cancer survivors.
Over the past four months, our employees dedicated themselves to not only meet, but more than double their fundraising goal of $5,000. Each month they chipped away at the total through bake sales, community events, employee dress down days, silent auctions, tee shirt sales and more. While not everyone was able to walk in the event, nearly every bank employee made a donation of either their time or money during the campaign. No one worked harder than team co-captains Trish McClain and Cherie Colvin, and they could not have been happier with the outcome.
Trish said, “It was a great event with a huge crowd and perfect weather. We were excited to not only win first place in money raised, but also 1st place for Best Decorated Campsite!”
“We have to give thanks to our entire Traditional Bank family. Without the support of management and the passion of its employees to give back we could have never reached our goal!” said Cherie.
