Hunger Action Month

Traditional Bank is excited to join God’s Pantry Food Bank as the local sponsor of Hunger Action Month. As part of a national initiative with Feeding America, God’s Pantry Food Bank and its partner agencies will dedicate the month of September to raising local awareness for this critical issue.

One in six people in America face hunger. Hunger Action Month exists to mobilize the public and help get more food to local people in need. This is an opportunity to be part of a month-long movement with a lasting impact to help end hunger in Central and Eastern Kentucky.

Throughout September God’s Pantry Food Bank will be reaching out lto individuals, charities, businesses and governments – encouraging everyone to take action.

“We know hunger is a very real issue faced by too many of our local families and we want to do our part to change that,” said Traditional Bank President Andy Baker.

“By supporting Hunger Action Month, our bank wants to help shine a light on hunger’s devastating effects and share ways that everyone can make a difference” said Baker.

Thursday, September 14, is Hunger Action Day. That day God’s Pantry Food Bank wants to turn Central and Eastern Kentucky orange! They encourage everyone to wear orange and to use their Hunger Action Month profile picture frame on Facebook and share photos and stories on social media with #HungerActionMonth and tag them at @GPFoodBank.
